This one week intensive course (for ages 12-18) will immerse the young actor in explorations of varied techniques for approaching theatre performance. Focus will be on training the actor's physical and mental skills and concentration as an expressive instrument and fostering his/her urges to express stories/themes relevant to his/her life. To this end, students will participate in Qigong, Tai Chi, guided imagery, stage combat, physical clowning, and improvisation exercises.
They will also explore expressive imagination through writing and art work. There will be a presentation of work at the end of the week.
The class takes place June 23-27, 2008, 8:30am-3:30pm
